The Garden
After creating a foot journey leading visitors around the city to the various spots relating to Andersen’s time in Odense the visitor number exploded in his childhood home, growing from 13.000 to 47.000 in just a couple of years. But the small home offered little space for the many visitors, and therefore we developed the grass field behind into a miniature romantic garden – giving birth to all the plants and flowers from his tales. Enclosed by walls the garden is experienced as a secret unveiling the richness and poetry inherent in the nature presented in Andersen’s fairytales.
